Central Electoral Commission established the single member district electoral councils and registered an electoral bloc of parties running for the Parliamentary Elections of 24 February 2019

Chisinau, CEC – During today’s meeting, held on 21 December 2018, Central Electoral Commission established 51 single member district electoral councils for the Parliamentary Elections and the advisory republican referendum of 24 February 2019.

The district electoral councils shall elect, by secret voting, the Chairperson, the Deputy Chairperson and the Secretary, respecting the gender balance principle. After this procedure is completed, the councils shall publicly announce on the venue (office), date and time when the registration documents of electoral competitors may be submitted.

By its Decision, the CEC tasked electoral councils with the establishment, until 19 January 2019, of polling stations and until 29 January 2019 of precinct electoral bureaus.

Also today, the CEC registered the electoral bloc of parties “ACUM Platform DA and PAS” as competitor in the Parliamentary Elections of 24 February 2019, established jointly by the Political Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” and the Political Party “Action and Solidarity”. Moreover, the electoral sign of the electoral bloc of parties “ACUM Platform DA and PAS” was registered to be printed on ballot papers.
